Over a 20-year span of organizing, collaborating, promoting, and advocating for live music in the DMV area, I had the opportunity to work with many talented bands. Early on, I connected with Pablo Antonio and La Firma, and that partnership quickly became one of the most reliable and rewarding collaborations in my experience.
At the time, there were only a couple of bands in the region that operated with the level of professionalism and musical versatility needed to support major events. What made La Firma stand out was their ability to deliver a vibrant mix of tropical classics and current music, keeping audiences engaged no matter the venue.
When I began working more closely with Pablo Antonio, I immediately saw his passion for music and his professionalism in handling the business side of live entertainment. He is organized, dependable, and extremely easy to work with—qualities that are invaluable when coordinating live events.
Whether we were performing at festivals, weddings, corporate gatherings, or community celebrations, Pablo Antonio and La Firma always delivered. One example that stands out is when they performed at events connected with the Congressional Gold Medal ceremony honoring the Borinqueneers. Not only did the band perform beautifully, but Pablo Antonio also handled full stage setup, bringing professional equipment, sound systems, and hardware so organizers could focus on the event itself. That level of support happened more than once and made a tremendous difference.
Over the years we worked together across the region—from Aberdeen to Washington, D.C.—and at festivals, cultural events, and private celebrations. Simply put, if there was music to be played, La Firma could deliver.
What I admire most is how Pablo Antonio keeps the band cohesive and maintains a distinctive musical identity. In that sense, I often compare La Firma to El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico—a group known not only for musical excellence but also for organization, consistency, and a recognizable style. Incredible talent! They are the top Latin Wedding Band in Washington, DC. My wedding was 300 people and the only time all the chairs were empty and the dance floor was full was when they played (we also had a Greek band and an American DJ). I recommend them to anyone that wants to have a reception that is is party!
